Overview
Many women have trouble finding the right fit when shopping online due to the lack of accurate measurements or sizing, or simply not knowing one’s measurements.
Different brands also follow various sizing guides, which makes it difficult to find clothes that fit properly across multiple retailers.

the right fit when shopping online.
Design Challenge
How might we provide personalized clothing recommendations
based on an individual’s body type when it comes to online shopping?
User Research
We conducted user research by sending out surveys to multiple users. We found that some users wanted the option to enter measurements manually if they did not feel comfortable using the
body scanning function. We also didn’t offer the option to buy clothes directly through the StyleMagnet app initially, but found that some users actually preferred that rather than being taken to a third-party website or a direct link to the retailer when they were already in the StyleMagnet app. Therefore, we added the ability to buy clothes directly in the StyleMagnet app, as well as provide clothing recommendations and favoriting items to the user.

Two modes of measurement - Users may choose between the body scanning function or manually entering their measurements through the app.
Body type matching - Selected clothing options and outfits that are complementary to each woman’s body type & measurements.
Brand size matching - Match the user’s measurements with the sizing guide from each clothing brand in order to ensure the right fit.
Personalized recommendations - View curated recommendations based on the user’s favorites and shopping history.
All-in-one - Browse, save, and purchase from different retailers all in the StyleMagnet app.
